Animal Welfare & Ethical Care
Animal welfare is central to every project at The Handy Panda.
Our goats and sheep are working livestock, and their health, safety, and comfort come first. We use careful planning, secure fencing, regular monitoring, and responsible handling to make sure each grazing project is safe for both the animals and the land.
Our animal care practices include:
Clean water and proper nutrition
Regular health checks
Veterinary care when needed
Low-stress handling and transport
Secure fencing and predator awareness
Site planning based on weather, terrain, and animal safety
Working Livestock, Not Petting Animals
During grazing projects, goats and sheep are not available for petting, feeding, or visitor interaction.
This protects the animals, clients, visitors, pets, and the success of the project. Limiting interaction helps reduce stress, prevent injury, support biosecurity, and keep the animals focused on grazing.
We appreciate clients respecting these boundaries while animals are on-site.
Responsible Grazing
Targeted grazing is never one-size-fits-all. Before and during each project, we consider the condition of the land, vegetation type, weather, terrain, fencing needs, and the well-being of the animals.
Animals are monitored throughout the project and removed once grazing goals are met.
At The Handy Panda, ethical animal care and responsible land stewardship go together. Healthy animals help create healthier land, and healthy land supports stronger communities.
